Have you ever participated in a homecoming celebration at a U.S. college or university? A homecoming is an annual tradition where school alumni and other college town residents are welcomed back to campus. The University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) ( University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign) is credited with starting this tradition, back in 1908. UIUC is located in Champaign, Illinois. Champaign is such a good representation of a college town that the university district in the town is actually called Campustown!
